For a moderate hike for nature lovers, we have created a 2 day overnight scenic adventure tour in Northern Drakensberg. During these 2 days you will experience a Tugela Gorge, moderate hike for one of Kwa-Zulu Natals finest scenic views.
*MODERATE HIIKE TRAIL*
Day 1: Durban to Pietermaritzburg to Mandela Capture Site to Royal Natal National Park
The tour starts from Durban and our first stop will be KwaZulu Natal’s capital city, Pietermaritzburg and after that we will visit Nelson Mandela Capture Site, then when we are done with the museum, we will take a drive to Royal Natal National Park.
Capital of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg. Your guide will give you a short tour of the city and visit Mahatma Gandhi’s statue by Pietermaritzburg City Hall.
Nelson Mandela Capture Site Statue and Apartheid Museum. The Capture Site boasts a large sculpture of Nelson Mandela made up of multiply steel columns which stand between 6 and 9 metres tall. Tourists at the Capture Site are required to stand 35 meters away from the large Nelson Mandela bust for it to come into clear focus. Facing west the impressive sculpture creates a uniquely beautiful landscape for the local Howick community. The museum is dedicated to Nelson Mandela’s life and his struggle against Apartheid government.
The 80.94 square kilometre sized Royal Natal National Park is in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa and forms part of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site. Overnight at 3-star hotel or Thendele Camp subject to availability Dinner, Bed and Breakfast
Day 2: Tugela Gorge Hike
After breakfast we will check out and drive to Thendele Parking Area and from there we will do a plus minus 4 to 5 hours (14 Kilometers) Tugela Gorge Hike.
The Tugela Gorge is a valley in KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa that is carved out by the river of the same name. Despite the beauty of the gorge, Tugela is more famous for forming the second highest waterfall in the world as it cascades over the enormous cliffs of the Drakensberg Amphitheatre.
The gorge, the river, the falls, and the amphitheatre combine to create a thoroughly scenic part of South Africa and the ideal territory to explore on foot.
After the hike we will take slow drive to Durban to end the tour.

Day 1:
